Refund and cancellation policy
How the free first brief, prices, renewals, cancellation and the 14-day money-back guarantee work for BuiltBrief.

BuiltBrief is provided by coderband LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. This page summarises how paying, cancelling and refunds work. Sections 8 to 10 of our Terms of Service contain the full agreement and take priority if anything here differs.
Free first brief
After you connect your repositories, BuiltBrief writes one brief covering the previous seven days at no charge. You don't need a payment card. The free brief is limited to one per person and per GitHub account. There is no free trial; further briefs need a subscription.

Prices are in US dollars, billed in advance. Taxes are added at checkout. A founding customer keeps the founding price for as long as the subscription stays active without a break. If the subscription ends, the founding price ends with it.
Payments are processed by Sold through Link, LLC, a Stripe affiliate, which is the merchant of record. Your card statement shows a descriptor starting with LINK.COM*.
Automatic renewal
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period until you cancel. We email you at least 30 days before any price change, and price changes never apply to an active founding-price subscription.
How to cancel
You can cancel at any time, in either of these ways:
- In BuiltBrief, open Billing and choose to manage your subscription. This opens the Stripe customer billing portal, where you can cancel.
- Through your Link order management page at link.com.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep access until then, and you won't be charged again.
14-day money-back guarantee
- Within 14 days of your first payment, press the Refund button on the Billing page. We refund that payment in full, with no questions asked.
- Your subscription ends straight away when the refund is made.
- The refund goes back to your original payment method. It usually appears within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
- The guarantee applies once per person and per GitHub account.
- If the button isn't available to you, email hello@builtbrief.com within the 14 days.
Renewals
Renewal payments aren't covered by the 14-day guarantee. We don't refund partly used periods, except where the law requires a refund or under Link's refund policy below.
Link's refund policy
Because Link is the merchant of record, the Sold through Link refund policy also applies and takes priority where it is more generous than ours. Link may refund a payment within 60 days for eligible reasons, such as an unauthorized or duplicate charge, or not receiving the service. Local consumer laws may give you further rights.
